I wonder if you can send this information out to all Brant area Scouters. When I was at 6th Dundas we participated in the Burlington Area Beaver Bee at Camp Manitou in 2016 and 2017. It’s a fun day of activities base
d on the Beaver Bee Theme. This year the theme is STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math). The event wil
l take place on May 5, 2018. The event includes a hotdog dinner at the end of events.
In my transition from 6th Dundas to 5th Brantford, the invitation was opened up at first to have the 5th colony join in the fun. As of last Monday’s planning meeting, the invitation has been opened up to any Brant Area Colonies. Depending on the number of youth in attendance from Brant we can either attend as separate groups or combine forces and attend as the area.
It is expected that each group that attends is expected to come up with an activity station. Typically we invite Venturers and Senior Scouts from our groups to run the e
vents so Scouters can help their youth progress from station to station. As Camp Manitou is booked for the weekend for this event, Venturers and Senior Scouts are also welcome to camp from Friday night through Sunday morning that weekend. They will have to provide their own food with the exception of the hot dog dinner on Saturday.
More details will emerge as planning is ongoing. Colonies who plan to attend have some deliverables based on the meeting schedule:
February 12th, 2018 at 8:30pm: Youth from each Colony should create a crest design. Each colony can then vote on their favorite from all the youth for submission to the planning committee at the February 12th meeting.
March 26th, 2018 at 8:30pm: Activities should be submitted
April 16th 2018 at 8:30pm: Registration numbers are required to plan logistics and food
May 5th, 2018 Beaver Bee
May 28th 2018 at 8:30pm Event Review meeting
